Namiri Plains Camp

For over 20 years, the area of Soit Le Motonyi was closed to tourism and reserved as a cheetah conservation and breeding program. As a result of this program, the area now features the highest density of cheetah in East Africa, along with high numbers of lion and leopard, allowing for excellent year round game viewing. Between November and May, the camp is well positioned to access the vast herds of the annual Migration as they pass through Soit Le Motonyi and gather on the plains to the south west of Namiri Plains.

Namiri Camp has now been reopened as a completely renovated permanent tented lodge.

Description

With your closest neighbour over an hour’s drive away, you may be excused for thinking that Namiri Plains belongs to you. The camp – created for safari enthusiasts seeking comfort and exclusivity in secluded surroundings – is elegant, contemporary and blissfully comfortable. In the mess tent, sink into one of the elegant sofas and watch the wildlife roaming over the surrounding plains or relax in the outdoor seating area under the shade of the giant acacias. In the evening, guest gather to recount the day’s adventures beside the camp fire before dinner is served in the spacious dining tent or under a glittering canopy of stars.

FAMILY TRAVEL

Year-round

Child rates available for children up to the age of 18 years at all Asilia camps. Children aged 5–18 (at time of travel), sharing with adults, pay only 50% of the accommodation rate.

Families of 5 or more, travelling with children aged 5–12 (at time of travel), receive a private vehicle at Asilia camps (on game package basis) free of charge. This must be prebooked, subject to availability. Please refer to our booking Terms & Conditions for families travelling with less than 5 pax in high season.

Low and Green Season

One child (18 years and under at time of travel) sharing the same room/tent as an adult stays for free at Asilia camps and lodges. Park fees/concession fees, camping fees, conservation charge etc payable as normal.

Families of less than 5, travelling with children aged 5–12 (at time of travel), receive a private vehicle at Asilia camps (on game package basis) free of charge. This must be prebooked, subject to availability.

Reduced vehicle rates

Benefit from reduced Asilia road safari vehicle rates when staying at an Asilia property. For any night spent at an Asilia property on full board basis, booked on a driving safari with an Asilia guide and vehicle, you will receive US$75 discount on the standard vehicle hire rate for that day. Nights spent at 3rd party properties on full board basis are subject to the normal daily vehicle rate.
