Burunge Tented Lodge

Lake Burunge lies outside of Tarangire National Park to the South of the main entry gate. It is an area that has benefited from a series of conservation initiatives over the past decade, helping to attract wildlife out of the park to the Burunge Wildlife Management Area.

Located at the edge of this protected area, Burunge Tented Lodge is a property that relies on entry to tarangire National Park for game viewing activities, though some wildlife might be seen around the property. Set outside the park, it can offer competitive rates and is one of the most affordable good options for visiting Tarangire. The downside is that you must proceed through the gate to go on a game drive, something which can take a while and also tends to funnel visitor traffic through the same point and can be quite busy in the high season. We always recommend overnighting inside the park itself if possible, although this does come at a higher price.
