Located on a major migration corridor in a spectacular location in the heart of the Serengeti, Dunia Camp offers easy access to the scenic Moru Kopjes and game-rich Seronera region. Big cats and rhino are plentiful and the Great Migration virtually passes through camp twice a year. Sunrise hot-air balloon safaris also provide a memorable way to experience this famous corner of the Serengeti.
Dunia Camp embraces the philosophy of leaving the lightest possible footprint on the earth. Weathered wood, sturdy canvas and elegant linens make the mess tent comfortable and atmospheric, while brass hurricane lanterns add a flicker of traditional charm. Settle into one of the old leather armchairs and watch as the sun drops behind the iconic granite outcrops before enjoying dinner in the beautiful mess tent or outdoors under the stars. Dunia is a tranquil semi-permanent camp with just eight spacious tented suites, each with expansive views of the pristine wilderness and game-filled plains from a large private veranda. Dunia Camp is set against the hills that you pass as you head South from the Seronera Valley towards one of our favorite areas, the Moru Kopjes area of Serengeti. There are a number of other properties situated along that route, all well spaced out. Further back in the hills and quite some distance from Dunia is what used to be Sopa Serengeti, now rebuilt as Elewana Explore, a quite large hotel. That means that while guests are set relatively isolated from the busier Serengeti Valley, guests won’t have the area all to themselves. The location does lend itself ideally to trips North to the Seronera Valley, or (better) South to the Moru Kopjes area. It is also well connected to the main Serengeti North – South Road that runs from Seronera to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Dunia is an excellent camp that we use whenever possible.
