Tarangire

Tarangire National Park covers 2,600 sq km (1,005 sq miles) and is located 118 km (75 miles) southwest of Arusha. Tarangire is an easy drive from Arusha or Lake Manyara following a surfaced road to within 7km (four miles) of the main entrance gate. Visitors can continue by road on to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti the same day. Scheduled flights link Tarangire to other key safari destinations . Visit year round but in the dry season (June – September) for sheer numbers of animals.

    Little Chem Chem is situated just outside Northwestern boundary of Tarangire National Park overlooking Lake Burunge. It lies within a 16,000 hectare exclusive-use wildlife management area. Guests have the privilege of enjoying amazing interaction with a variety of wildlife species including the big tusker elephants which have found a sanctuary in the WMA. Walking, night drives, cultural visits and game drives are the main activities on offer in the area. Access by road from Arusha, taking about 2 hours, or alternatively and highly recommended, fly to Kuro Airstrip in the center of Tarangire and gradually make your way to camp on a game drive provided by Chem Chem.
