Little Chem Chem Camp

Little Chem Chem lies on the eastern side of the Chem Chem – Burunge Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The camp has six elegantly decorated vintage tents, each tent has a large bedroom.  Three have king-size beds and two offer twin beds and there is a family tent. All tents have a rocking chair and study desk, a vanity area with dressing room and an en suite bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet. Embracing an ‘Out-of-Africa’ atmosphere, each tent offers a private fire pit with flames that seduce you as the sounds of an African night come to life all around to you.

CHEM CHEM FOUNDATION

The Chem Chem Foundation’s aim is environmental protection in rural Tanzania. It assists the local communities in their ongoing efforts to safeguard their surrounding wildlife. In consultation with the appropriate authorities, the Foundation supports the school infrastructure. It offers courses for teachers and helps children learn about their local ecosystem through environmental education. Chem Chem believes supporting education and protecting wildlife forms a perfect symbiosis.  The Foundation also employs and supports rangers who help protect the wildlife of the WMA.

WILDLIFE CORRIDOR PROJECT

Chem Chem works to rescue the wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks. This is a crucial project because of the increasing human impact on the natural movement of wildlife in the area. It involves working closely with and providing work for the villagers in the corridor.
