Day 1 – Serian The Original, Mara North Conservancy

Game drive your way to Serian Camp set on the banks of the Mara River within the Mara North Conservancy, one of the most wildlife-rich zones in the world. ‘Mara’ in the language of the Masai means ‘spotted’ or ‘dotted’, and indeed, the landscape is littered with game.
Days 2,3,4,5 – Serian The Original, Mara North Conservancy
4 full days in the Mara Area with your own private 4×4, game spotter and driver guide for company. Here you set your own pace to fully enjoy your stay. Serian is the first of Alex’s charismatic camps, and it’s set along the banks of the Mara, bursting with laughing pods of languorous hippo. ‘Mara’ is the Masai word for ‘dotted’,and indeed this rich zone is littered with wildlife wherever you look – famed for its sheer density of game, this is the perfect location to kick off your safari. Explore in one of our safari vehicles, or take a walk on the wild side and head out on foot – both will bring different levels and layers to your experience… And top it off with a nocturnal adventure: take a bush dinner and red-filter spotlights and discover what the wilderness has to offer by way of nightlife.
Day 6 – Serian Serengeti South, Southern Serengeti
After breakfast, game drive your way back to Mara North airstrip from where you will board your small aircraft for the short flight to Migori airstrip on the Kenya’s side of the border. Clear immigration and transfer by road a short distance to the Tanzanian border to repeat the immigration process. Once done, you will continue your flight to Serengeti South airstrip. Game drive your way across the Serengeti plains to Serian’s Serengeti South camp, your base for the next 5 days.
Days 7,8,9,10 – Serian Serengeti South, Southern Serengeti
4 full days to explore one of the most wildlife rich areas on Africa in the company of the local Masai during the height of the Wildebeest migration. As in Kenya, you will have your own private 4×4 safari vehicle with game spotter and driver guide, leading you to the best game viewing to be had. Leaving the Mara River behind, our Serengeti South camp takes you to the extreme tip of the savannah. Set on the edge of the short-grass plains that host the million-strong wildebeest birthing season, it’s hard to imagine a more stunning location to wrap up your adventure. Dramatic storms sweep in new life, and babies and attendant predators are everywhere. Flora bursts forth, fields of wildflowers bloom, and the striking contrast of red Masai against the emerald background makes for a perfect palette. Part of the beauty of this spot is the Masai way of life in its most natural state – and the other part is the opportunity to explore on foot: stretch your legs and open your senses to immersion in this wild space, as our local guides show you to see through their eyes.
Day 11 – Head for Home – Nairobi
After breakfast, make your way to Mwiba airstrip for your flight to Nairobi International Airport (NBO) for your journey back home, via Tarime and Migori where you cross back into Kenya. Optionally, save some $’s and fly home from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or consider extending your safari to Tanzania’s Coast or Southern parks.
