Serengeti Walking Camps are lightweight private camps set in wilderness areas far from the busy tourist areas. These camps are designed to move catering for up to 6 days of walking in an area. Camp tents are relatively small 2.5m x 2.5m dome tents but with comfortable foam mattresses are covered with 100% linen bedding. Meals are eaten under the stars or in the shade of of a tree. A small mess tent is available in the event of bad weather. All meals are 3-course sit down affairs, prepared by the camp chef and served by waiters. All walking camps are private and groups and therefore never mixed. -
Ubuntu Camp has just 7 tents and is designed to reach key wildlife areas. It is lightweight enough to move seasonally, and while doing so, offers every comfort possible. Each tent is either a double or a twin with an ensuite bathroom with safari shower. A small veranda and seating area allows guests to enjoy the peace of the bush in their own space. Sasakwa Lodge is a flagship lodge set high on a hill above the rolling plains of the Serengeti. Beho Beho was the first camp in The Selous Game Reserve to be sited in its cooler highlands. Here it enjoys 'cooling breezes' from which it derives its name. Designated a private camp, it has fiercely protected its individuality and privileged location. It is one of the most magical places to visit in safari Africa. Beho Beho is not really a camp in the true sense of the word. It has individual bandas built of stone, with palm-leaf thatched roofs. Therefore it is not the tented accommodation often associated with a camp. Nor is it a safari lodge either, as it has only eight bandas, four on one side of the main house and four on the other. Think of Beho Beho as a home, a very private home situated in the middle of the African bush. Owned by the Bailey family for over forty years, they now share their "home in the bush". A fortunate few are able to share their enjoyment of Beho Beho, one of their favourite places in the world. -

Sand Rivers Selous is perched right on the banks of the Rufiji River. All the main areas and rooms have superb river views. It’s really rather special in an area that is far away from the main hub of the park where you will hardly see another soul. Sand Rivers Selous has just 8 stone and thatched cottages, all are open-fronted and raised on decks overlooking the river. There are 5 Riverside rooms - with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water, flush toilets and powerful showers - and 3 Hillside Suites. The Suites have all the above, but a large living space and a small plunge pool. -
A grove of Kigelia (Sausage Tree) is home to this simple but comfortable tented camp. Ruaha National Park has to be one of the most scenic in Tanzania. It has acres upon acres of baobab studded plains, sweeping sand rivers, swathes of woodland and seemingly impossible balancing granite boulders, all surrounded by seriously impressive game populations. Kigelia Ruaha sits right in the middle of it all, flanked by ancient baobab forests and overlooking the dry river bed of the Ifuguru River. Ruaha surprisingly is relatively undiscovered and receives far fewer visitors than its more famous counterparts in the north of the country. So, on safari out here you have it almost all to yourself. -

Greystoke sits deep within the Mahale Mountains National Park, on the edge of the second deepest lake in the world - Lake Tanganyika. That is what being in Mahale is all about. This really is the edge of the world and the ultimate in remote wilderness. The main reason for making the journey down to Mahale is to see the chimpanzees. Mahale is home to one of the largest populations of wild chimps with access to a habituated community known as the M Group. A team of Japanese researchers have worked in these mountains studying the chimps for over 50 years, and the guides and their families have played a part in their work for decades. All of our camp guides have had a member of their family involved with the chimps since they were young, and they gladly followed in their footsteps. There is nothing the guides don’t know about the characters, politics and intricacies of this fascinating community and they bring it to life with an extraordinary passion.
