We know safaris from every side
I grew up in Tanzania, arriving with my family from Denmark in the 1970’s. Back from studying in England, I set up four tented camps in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire for Ker & Downey Tanzania. I then spent seven years as general manager of The Friedkin Companies’ safari operations in Tanzania, running 10 remote seasonal camps across 12 exclusive wilderness areas. Alongside that, I registered and directed the Friedkin Conservation Fund, protecting 20,000 km² of wilderness with the wildlife department and local communities.
Later, I handled sales and marketing in the US for the group’s safari company, and from 2009 co-founded and ran the Manyara Ranch Conservancy, 35,000 acres of wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Manyara. For several years I was also a lead horseback safari guide in Tanzania.
I founded Safaris and Expeditions in 2004. Every safari is still planned by me, with camps, guides and routes I know from personal experience.
