Chem Chem lies just outside of Tarangire Park
Little Chem Chem is situated just outside Northwestern boundary of Tarangire National Park overlooking Lake Burunge. It lies within a 16,000 hectare exclusive-use wildlife management area. Guests have the privilege of enjoying amazing interaction with a variety of wildlife species including the big tusker elephants which have found a sanctuary in the WMA. Walking, night drives, cultural visits and game drives are the main activities on offer in the area. Access by road from Arusha, taking about 2 hours, or alternatively and highly recommended, fly to Kuro Airstrip in the center of Tarangire and gradually make your way to camp on a game drive provided by Chem Chem. -
Ubuntu Camp has just 7 tents and is designed to reach key wildlife areas. It is lightweight enough to move seasonally, and while doing so, offers every comfort possible. Each tent is either a double or a twin with an ensuite bathroom with safari shower. A small veranda and seating area allows guests to enjoy the peace of the bush in their own space. Beho Beho was the first camp in The Selous Game Reserve to be sited in its cooler highlands. Here it enjoys 'cooling breezes' from which it derives its name. Designated a private camp, it has fiercely protected its individuality and privileged location. It is one of the most magical places to visit in safari Africa. Beho Beho is not really a camp in the true sense of the word. It has individual bandas built of stone, with palm-leaf thatched roofs. Therefore it is not the tented accommodation often associated with a camp. Nor is it a safari lodge either, as it has only eight bandas, four on one side of the main house and four on the other. Think of Beho Beho as a home, a very private home situated in the middle of the African bush. Owned by the Bailey family for over forty years, they now share their "home in the bush". A fortunate few are able to share their enjoyment of Beho Beho, one of their favourite places in the world. -
